The anime adapts Mine Yoshizaki's popular comedy manga about frog-like aliens who come to invade Earth, but end up stranded on the planet — and protecting it from other threats. Funimation will begin releasing the new season this summer. ⏎ Funimation already released the first 51 anime episodes on DVD, after ADV Films had licensed but not released the anime. The anime studio Sunrise just announced last week that the television series is ending "for now" in March. The anime has been running for seven years in Japan, and it spawned five feature films. Tokyopop published the manga in North America. ⏎ Image © Mine Yoshizaki/Kadokawa Shoten, Sunrise, TV Tokyo, NAS
