Gallery: Katsuhiro Otomo GENGA Exhibition

by Adrian Lozano & Egan Loo,

Excerpted from the news:

The Ustream video service will stream a commemorative program for the "Katsuhiro Otomo GENGA Exhibition" on Monday at 8:00 p.m. in Japan (7:00 a.m. EDT).

Otomo himself will take part in the discussion event, along with illustrator/character designer Katsuya Terada (Blood: The Last Vampire), manga creator Isami Nakagawa (Kuma no Pūtarō, Poguri), manga creator Sensha Yoshida (Utsurun Desu) and manga creator/character designer Hisashi Eguchi (Stop! Hibari-kun, Roujin Z, Perfect Blue). All five have contributed to an illustrated essay series called Oyaji-Shū (A Bunch of Oldtimers) in Shueisha's Jump X (Jump Kai) magazine.

The talk is part of an ongoing series of events and features on Otomo and his cultural impact. Geijutsu Shincho magazine ran a working on a new manga series set in Japan's Meiji period to run in a yet unspecified shōnen magazine.

The GENGA Exhibition will run from April 9 to May 30 at the 3331 Arts Chiyoda gallery in Tokyo.
