IMAGI's Astro Boy Adds US$1.7 Million, Slips to #13

Remake of Tezuka's manga earns US$18 million, sures Ponyo's U.S. total
The Box Office Mojo website reports that Summit Entertainment-distributed film had an estimated per-screen average of US$1,219.
By comparison in their fourth weekend of release, Speed Racer (2008) earned US$2,259,031 in 2,070 theaters (US$1,091 average), and IMAGI's TMNT film (2007) earned US$2,259,322 in 1,855 theaters (US$1,217 average). As of November 8, Astro Boy has sured Ponyo's American box office total, although Ponyo has earned at least US$199,460,313 worldwide.
Roland Emmerich's 2012 film opened at #1 in 3,404 theaters with an estimated US$65,000,000 (US$19,095 per theater).
