Answerman
The Prince of Darkness

by Zac Bertschy,
Ms. Answerman is currently on vacation, so I'll be filling in for her this week. She'll be back to answer your questions next week. Thanks to everyone who came out and said hello at Anime Expo; we were delighted to hear from so many of you.

Hi Answerman!
I just got done watching the entire Full Metal Panic! series and I must
tell you it was AWSOME.. Just like you said on one of your earlier columns.
I just read a rumor that there is second season in production. Is this true
and any ideas on what the plot will be about. Your column ROCKS!

It is indeed! While Ms. A and I have not had time to finish the first series yet, Fullmetal Alchemist (debuting this October on Japanese TV) is NOT the FMP sequel.

Hi answerman,
I am a huge Nadesico fan and I was wondering when the movie "Prince of Darkness" is going to be released in America? I find it weird that ADV would release the sound track for it but not the movie. If you would answer this question I would be very grateful.

-Hiroki

ADV stated at this past Anime Expo that they were currently working on the Nadesico movie and that a release date would be forthcoming. They've sat on the film for a few years now, and it finally will see a release at some point this year. A warning to hardcore Nadesico fans who haven't seen the movie yet: it's nothing like the show at all. Don't expect more of the same. Oh, and I hope you like Ruri. A lot.

Do you know if Cartoon Network.

Dear Ms. Answerman,
I finally got a stubborn friend of mine interested in anime when she saw some pictures of Animerica. Unfortunately, I've come to a problem - I can't find it anywhere to let her read it. Is Angel Sanctuary even liscensed in the U.S.? I'm gonna feel like the biggest moron in the world if it isn't...
Also, I've been trying to convert other friends of mine. One of them has seen Dragon Ball Z and Yū Yū Hakusho but I'm trying to show him something that's not aimed at ten-year-olds, any ideas?
Thanks for your help!

Angel Sanctuary has not been licensed yet. The manga covers what is possibly every taboo in the world; incest, sacrilege, you name it. I'm thinking most potential licensors are wary given the incredibly controversial content. You can find scanslations all over the Internet, though, and while I can't point you to them, they do exist. Consider buying the original tankoubon as well; it's usually worth the investment. Avoid the Angel Sanctuary anime series, though. It's a horrible misrepresentation.
As for your second question, I'll just list some stuff and save time.

For your first person:
Hellsing
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
Berserk

Miyazaki:
My Neighbor Totoro

Your Boyfriend:
Berserk
Hellsing
RahXephon
X TV

These are all available now, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding them.

Greetings Ms. Answerman!
I've been wandering around the net for the last couple of weeks from boredom and stumbled upon the Toriyama World Website. I started reading their 666 Satan". It was great, very enjoyable, but incomplete. So what I really want to ask you is can you tell me anymore about this wonderful little series? I've been having a very hard time of finding any info.
Thanks!
Randy

666 Satan is a manga by the brother of the guy who did Naruto, hence the similar art style and immediate popularity over the internet. The manga is still going. TW has translations for the first Tankoubon, but that's it for now; you'll just have to be patient. If the series really picks up and takes off, you can expect an anime series at some point, but for now it's new and relatively obscure.

Next week, Ms. Answerman returns and does 10 – count 'em – 10 questions!
