NBCUniversal Concludes US$3.8 Billion Deal to Acquire DreamWorks Animation

The Los Angeles Times reported on Thursday that NBCUniversal has concluded a US$3.8 billion deal to acquire DreamWorks Animation.
According to the report, DreamWorks shareholders for each share of DreamWorks stock. The transaction is expected to be completed in full later this year.
DreamWorks Chief Executive Jeffrey Katzenberg will head DreamWorks New Media division, a newly created division for NBCUniversal, and will also serve as a consultant to NBCUniversal. The studio will be folded into the Los Angeles-based Universal Filmed Entertainment. DreamWorks Animation will be one of NBCUniversal's animation labels, alongside Illumination Entertainment.
DreamWorks currently owns the licenses to Guillermo del Toro.
