King of Fighters '97 Global Match Slated for April

The original was the fourth game in SNK's The King of Fighters crossover fighting game series, and it debuted in 1997. New to the game at the time was the feature of selecting Advanced or Extra modes. Extra mode allowed players to use mechanics similar to The King of Fighters '94 and The King of Fighters '95, while Advanced mode allowed players to use mechanics that were introduced in The King of Fighters '96, including running, rolling, short hops, and a three-meter gauge (most of which would go on to become staple mechanics in the rest of the series).
The latest game in the series, The King of Fighters XIV, version debuted last June.
