Netflix Tests New Payment Model for Sharing

Netflix announced on Wednesday that it is testing a new payment model for s who wish to share s between separate households. The test will place over the next few weeks in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru.
s with Netflix's Basic, Standard, or plans will be able to share a single with an additional outside the household for 2,380 CLP in Chile, US$2.99 in Costa Rica, and 7.9 PEN in Peru during the test.
The company stated that it hopes to "enable who share outside their household to do so easily and securely, while also paying a bit more."
Netflix also stated that it will add a new feature which will enable the transfer of Netflix profiles between s.
Netflix recently raised the price of its subscription plans in the United States and Canada. The service's standard plan, which allows s to stream in HD on up to two separate devices, raised its price from US$13.99 to US$15.49 per month. The service's plan, which allows s to stream in 4K on up to four separate devices, increased from US$17.99 to US$19.99 per month. The basic plan, which does not allow HD streams, increased from US$8.99 to US$9.99 per month.
The service previously increased subscription prices in the United States in October 2020.
