Yamaha Sponsors Contest to Create Next Vocaloid Idol

Yamaha itself began creating Vocaloid characters such as Lily for its own software packages. With the "Minna no Vocalo Keikaku" (Everyone's Vocaloid Project) contest, anyone can submit his or her idea for a Vocaloid character. The winning entry will then be developed and distributed as an actual software release, starting with a preview edition this summer or fall.
Between February 25 and April 24, entrants must submit their character sketches with their own personal information, a simple description of the character, and the character's nickname. The rules specifically state that anyone of any nationality can enter.
The winner will be announced at the second Vocaloid Festa event on May 29.
