AKB48 Idols Cosplay as AKB0048 Anime Characters

Karen Iwata appeared as their characters Orine & Nagisa
inspired by the idol group.
Nakaya and Iwata wore mostly pink and white costumes with wigs that precisely reproduced their characters' unique outfits. Although not in Ryōko Shiraishi (Takamina) also appeared at the event and revealed that they just finished recording the series' first episode.
The anime's story is set in a post-apocalyptic future when AKB0048 assumes the name of the legendary idol group AKB48. The developing idols hold guerrilla concerts to combat the Super Galactic Alliance's Entertainment Prohibition Law.
The series will premiere on April 29 on TV Kanagawa at 11:00 p.m.
