Publisher Denies Rumors of One Piece Going to Monthly Serialization
posted on by Amanda Ellard
Despite recent rumors among Japanese fans that Shueisha has officially denied it.
Eiichirō Oda's One Piece manga has been serialized in Shueisha's set a Guinness World Record for "most published comic series by a single author."
However in recent years the number of one-week hiatuses has gone up, and since the beginning of this year the manga has taken one week off a month. That's still a lot of One Piece, but with the author working on other projects, such as his role as executive producer for One Piece Film Gold, some fans have started to speculate that the series will soon slow its pace to one chapter per month. It was enough for the publisher to comment: "It's not true that it will move to monthly serialization," a Shueisha representative said.
Another popular Shounen Jump manga, indefinite hiatus.
