The multiple casting of Popuko and Pipimi makes clear the differences in acting theory of individual voice actors. In a way, it seems to be content that stirs up actor training and voice actor training. The basic practices (foundations) are the same, but diverse acting theories (houses) are built on top. Even with extreme theories, "There are the same number of acting theories as the people who professionally express them" holds true.
Whatever the significance of the multiple casting, it seems to fit in with the show's inscrutable meaning and style. Even series director struggled to wrap his head around the anime and its source manga.
