Tottori Airport's Remodel Adds More Detective Conan Touches
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Tottori Airport has the official nickname Tottori Sand Dunes Conan Airport, which is a tribute to Tottori native and Gōshō Aoyama. The airport was recently remodeled, and it reopened on July 28 with some special Detective Conan touches.
The arrival lobby features a large display with a handwritten message by Aoyama. A recreation of the franchise's Café Poirot with a Tōru Amuro statue is also on display in a separate exhibit space. The airport's tenant space has four new shops, including a Conan Tanteisha (Conan Detective Agency) shop. The second wave of a mystery-solving rally and a separate stamp rally in the airport's international terminal are available.
The airport is collaborating with Gosho Aoyama Manga Factory on a campaign that will run until August 31. The first 1,000 people who get a stamp from Conan Tanteisha and also visit Gōshō Aoyama Manga Factory will receive an exclusive coaster. In addition, the first 1,000 people to spend at least 2,000 yen ($18) at each shop will receive special Detective Conan merchandise.
