The anime series and its original manga looked to a cooking expert to make sure its dishes were authentic. Enter YouTube channel. (Note: channel is region-locked to Japan). The recipes are also listed on the anime's official website.
According to an interview with series directors Newtype February 2019, Tadano takes photos of the themselves making the food featured in each episode, and then sends the pictures to the anime staff. Tadano also supervises the anime's storyboards.
Director Takahiro Miura was working on the Heaven's Feel movies while making Today's Menu for Emiya Family and describes Today's Menu for Emiya Family as a show that "heals" him after all the heavy content in Heaven's Feel. While working on Today's Menu for Emiya Family episode 11, he was also working on a big scene between Archer and Rin in Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel II, and his reaction was: "I just want them to be happy!" So he put Rin into episode 11 of Today's Menu for Emiya Family.
Today's Menu for Emiya Family episodes streamed monthly from January to December 2018. Crunchyroll streamed it as it aired in Japan.
