Funeral Planned for Fist of the North Star's Raoh

On April 18th, Fist of the North Star fictional character Raoh will be receiving a real-life Buddhist send-off. The ceremony will be held at the Shingon sect's Tokyo branch, at the Shingon Koyasan Tokyo Betusin; in the series, the Hokuto Shinken martial arts technique was first brought to Japan by a pupil of Kobo Daishi, the Shingon founder.
This event is set 10 days before the April 28th premiere of the most recent Fist of the North Star animated movie: True Saviour Legend Fist of the North Star - The Legend of Raoh: Fierce Fighting Arc. The ceremony, which is being hosted by the film's distributor, will be held in a traditional manner, with the family of the deceased represented by creator Shinji Tanimura, a fan and friend of the manga artist.
The Legend of Raoh: Fierce Fighting Arc movie is the third in a five-part series. It's the conclusion to the Raoh saga and features the epic battle between Kenshiro and Raoh.
