The Sankei Sports newspaper has reported on Thursday that the voice actors Kanai is keeping their three-story house, while Yamadera is currently living in a apartment by himself in Tokyo. The two have no children.
The two were among the most prominent couples in the industry, particularly since they have been working together on the children's anime classic Jim Carrey's film roles into Japanese.
Yamadera's agency said that the late notice of the divorce was not an attempt to conceal the matter, but the result of not being asked about it until now. The agency also said that Yamadera respects Kanai, and the divorce was mutual and amicable. Kanai's agency has requested privacy on the matter.
