Singer Cast for Leading Role in Takashi Miike's Yatterman

Saki Fukuda to star as Ai-chan
Twitch Film is reporting that 17-year-old pop singer Yatterman that is currently in production.
Fukuda's prior credits include performing the theme song for a television drama based on the volleyball manga Akimi Yoshida's eponymous manga. The original movie was released in 1990, the same year that Fukuda was born.
Yatterman, a take on the classic 1977 anime series that is being directed by Takashi Miike is currently on track for a Spring 2009 release.
