Seiji Horibuchi overseeing San Francisco's J-Pop Center complex
Japan's English-language Daily Yomiuri newspaper has interviewed plans to open in San Francisco next year.
The center will include a 150-seat movie theater that will screen animated and live-action Japanese films, a cafe, an anime/manga goods store, and several fashion boutiques offering various Japanese clothing, with a particular emphasis on the Gothic Lolita style.
No specific store names have been mentioned yet, but an image on the center's website suggests that one of the tenants will be a branch of the Kinokuniya chain of Japanese book stores. The J-Pop Center is scheduled to open about a year from now.
