CG-animated singer reveals Black Rock Shooter anime at her 1st live concert

Hatsune Miku, a virtual singer whose voice is created by a software engine, performed "live" for the first time on Saturday at the Animelo Summer Live 2009 Re:bridge concert. The promoters had announced on July 31 that the character would be part of the annual anime song concert series this year, but they did not reveal how she would appear.

The concert used a screen installed at the back of the stage to project Hatsune several stories tall before a standing-room-only crowd of 25,000. After a greeting, the computer-generated Hatsune proceeded to sing (and dance) on two songs — "Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru (Shiteyan yo)" and "start next spring after a "Pilot Edition" ships on DVD and Blu-ray Disc next month.

Hatsune's image was created by an artist named Kei, and her voice was provided by Shinobu Yoshioka (episode director on Lucky Star, Haruhi) is the actual director of the project.
