Drifting Classroom Creator Kazuo Umezu Interviewed

In the first two parts of the interview, Umezu discussed his childhood in the mountains, how his love for his father's scary stories inspired his later horror works, and how he got his start as a manga creator with his first work, The Magic Pot (Mahou no Tsubo). Umezu described his encounter with New Treasure Island, and how it inspired him to become a professional manga creator.
Umezu also discussed his first few works, the change from "cartoony" characters to a more realistic style, and his move from Shogakukan
On October 23, the official website for the first documentary about Umezu, Gwashi! Kazuo Umezz (Gwashi! Umezu Kazuo Desu), posted a 103-second trailer for the film. (The film is named after the trademark "Gwashi!" pose of the title character in Umezu's Makoto-chan manga, the story that also inspired the nickname of Umezu's home.)
