Ponyo Sells 9,000 BDs to Top Japan's Weekly Anime Chart

Ponyo Blu-ray Disc Special Keepsake Edition also ranks at #2
Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea film sold 9,000 standard edition Blu-ray Discs to top Oricon's anime Blu-ray Disc chart for the week of December 7-13 in Japan. The Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea Blu-ray Disc Special Keepsake Edition (pictured at right) also debuted on the same chart at #2.
On Japan's overall Blu-ray chart for the week, the top release was Stephen Sommers and G.I. Joe Special Collector's Edition, which sold 10,000 copies.
Ponyo will ended its official run in American theaters on November 5 with US$15,090,399 at the box office.
