posted on by Egan Loo
YOSHIKI revealed at the Grammy Awards' red carpet on Sunday that his band agreed to appear at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago from August 6 to August 8. The band received an offer to play at the festival's main stage in Grant Park, although the official detailed announcement will be made public later this month. X Japan would be the first Japanese musical act to perform at the festival's main stage.
YOSHIKI attended the 52nd Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles as a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, after having walked the red carpet in 2008. X Japan held a Saturday evening music video shoot at the heart of Hollywood last month.
X Japan's most notable anime contributions were the songs in the reunited in 2007, ten years after they first disbanded and nine years after the death of guitarist Hideto "Hide" Matsumoto.
