Hideaki Sorachi's Gintama alternate-history gag manga, debuted at #4 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's chart. According to Box Office Mojo, the film ranked at #5 and picked up US$2,118,342 on just 90 screens. As the title implies, the film depicts a new version of the popular Benizakura story arc from the television anime series.
