Eva: 2.22 Sells 124,000 DVDs, 195,000 BDs on Tuesday

This Is It sold 350,000 copies in Japan as the top-selling Blu-ray release in Japan to date, while the first Evangelion remake film, Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Jo) eventually sold 125,000 copies as the top-selling anime Blu-ray release until now.
Moviegoers spent 4 billion yen ($42 million) to watch Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance in theaters 2.9 million times. The film eventually received over 800,000 DVD and Blu-ray pre-orders of the film, including over 450,000 for the Blu-ray version.
