Misaki No. 1!! High School Manga Gets Live-Action Show

Karina stars as cabaret hostess-turned-teacher in story by Masato Fujisaki
Starting this January, 26-year-old actress Karina will star as the title character in a live-action television adaptation of Masato Fujisaki's Misaki No. 1!! manga. In the story, Misaki Tennōji is the #1 cabaret club hostess in Tokyo's glitzy Roppongi district. One day, at the request of her madam "Mama," she becomes a teacher for a class of troublemakers at an elite high school. Her new assignment is supposed to last "only three months."
The new series will air at 10:00 p.m. on Wednesdays on Gokusen.
The original Misaki No. 1!! manga ran in Shogakukan's airing two of the three episodes in March of that year.
