3rd Umizaru Film to Be Released in U.S., 11 Other Regions

The industry news source Oricon reported on Friday that Shuho Sato's manga about the Japanese Coast Guard divers, will be released in the United States and 11 other regions overseas. The negotiations are still ongoing, but distribution has been set for , Russia, Brazil, Hong Kong, India, China, Taiwan, Singapore, the United States, Mexico, Peru, and Agentina. Overseas distribution will begin in Asia next March.
Actor Hideaki Itō stars in this film which was originally shot in traditional 2D, but it was converted to stereoscopic 3D before release. As of Friday, the film has been seen over 5.22 million times and has brought in over 7.8 billion yen ($93 million) since it opened in Japan on September 18. It is currently this year's #1 Japanese live-action film in box office receipts.
