Canada's Waterloo Shows Makoto Shinkai's Hoshi o Ou Kodomo

Latest work from 5 cm/sec director to screen at November 17-20 event

The 2011 Waterloo Festival of Animated Cinema Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below (Hoshi o Ou Kodomo). The festival will run from November 17 to November 20 in Kitchener-Waterloo, Canada. The film will screen at 1:00 p.m. on November 20.

The film centers on Asuna, a girl who spends her solitary days listening to the mysterious music emanating from the crystal radio she received from her father as a memento. However, she embarks on a journey of adventure to find a mysterious boy she just met, and thus comes to know the cruelty and beauty of the world, as well as loss.

The film is the latest 5 Centimeters Per Second. The new film opened in Japan on May 7.

Otakon in July.

The festival is also Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos film on November 17 at 6:30 p.m.
