Danbōru Senki W Robot Anime to Premiere on January 18
posted on by Egan Loo
The official portal site for Level-5's Danbōru Senki (Danbōru Senki W will premiere on January 18.
Level-5 (Dragon Quest VIII, Professor Layton, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE) made the Danbōru Senki "near-future, plastic-model-building role-playing game" that inspired the anime of the same name. In the story, a boy named Ban s a competition with miniature robots called LBX (Little Battlers eXperience). Ban and other players such as his rival Ren "Rex" Hiyama customize and control the LBX robots, and they battle it out in dioramas built from reinforced cardboard. ("Danbōru Senki" literally means "cardboard warriors.")
The website provides a short story blurb leading up to the new anime series: "Can Ban really stop Rex's ambitions!? And what will happen in the new series!? Please enjoy [the new anime]!!"
The first Danbōru Senki television series from the anime studio shipped in Japan last month.
Level 5 announced in August that it is bringing the Little Battlers eXperience television anime series to the United States.
