FuRyu was started in 1997 as a new business in the entertainment field by the Japanese electronics manufacturing firm Omron, establishing itself as an independent corporation in April 2007. In 2010, FuRyu had about 18.422 billion yen in sales ($226 million) and an operating profit of around 3.168 billion yen ($ 39 million). With the acquisition of We've, FuRyu plans to become a comprehensive entertainment company, beginning operations in the fields of anime, film, and publishing.
