Live-Action Himizu Film to Be Screened in L.A. in January

Adaptation of Minoru Furuya's psychological drama manga opened in Japan in January

The award-winning live-action film Ciné Family theater in January. The film will screen on January 18-24 and tickets are currently on sale for US$12.

directed the film. Sono revealed that he had to rewrite the film's story before shooting, due to the 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan.

Fumi Nikaidō (Sono's Gama no Abura) plays Keiko Chazawa, Sumida's classmate.

Sono won the Audience Award at the fourth annual Terracotta Far East Film Festival in April.

Himizu opened in theaters across Japan on January 14. Third Window Films released the film on home video in the United Kingdom in August.
