posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The magazine on March 1. The series will continue with the "Hōkan Jiken" (The Coronet Case) story.
Morita Maurice Leblanc's original French Arsène Lupin books about a clever thief.
Leblanc's novels center on a gentleman thief who solves cases while outwitting both the police and criminals. The first chapter of Morita's manga retold the first short story Leblanc published, "The Arrest of Arsène Lupin" (1905).
The manga stated in October that the manga would end at the end of last year due to reasons beyond his control. The manga ended its first run in Evening with the February 2013 issue published on Christmas.
Arsène Lupin served as a loose inspiration for Lupin vs. Holmes (1981). Morita has been a longtime fan of Arsène Lupin, and he even gave Lupin a cameo in his very first manga series, Clock Clock (2001).
