StudioCanal to Release From Up on Poppy Hill (Updated)

Ghibli film listed on StudioCanal's 2013 release slate, cinema release is planned.

However, there is no confirmed U.K. release date for the film. Asked whether there would be a UK cinema release, a StudioCanal rep said, "We do plan on giving the film a UK cinema release, but have no further details at present.'

premiered in theaters in Japan in July 2011.

North American distributor show it in American cinemas this March.

Previously, StudioCanal's British arm was called Optimum, which distributed all the Studio Ghibli films in Britain up to and including changed its name to match its parent company.
