Evangelion 3.0's Takeshi Honda to work on film trilogy

The official website for the French animation studio Oban Star-Racers) revealed on Sunday that it will premiere a promotional video for its The 2 Queens trans-media project at the Tokyo International Anime Fair this month. The Franco-Japanese project will include a trilogy of animation feature films as well as a "drama television series." Sav! The World noted that it has "a wide international audience in mind" for the new project. The company had unveiled the project on its website in November.

Takeshi Honda (chief animation director for Evangelion 3.0, Dennō Coil) had worked on the project as a key animator. Sound designer and mixer Jérome Wiciak is also working on the project.

Sav! The World describes the project as follows:

The 2 Queens traces the relentless rise to power of two fascinating women in the dark hours of the Early Middle Ages - and the merciless rivalry that pits them against one another until their dying breath ... A dark and epic tale of ion, conspiracy and war, The 2 Queens is a thrill ride, and a visual feast unlike anything you've seen before!

Sav! The World will be at booth B34 at the Tokyo International Anime Fair, which will be held on March 21-24.
