Code Geass: Akito the Exiled to be Released in July

OAV will be the first release in the western world.

The announcement of a subtitle only release in July for the first episode of Manifest back in August 2012.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled (Bōkoku no Akito) follows a side story set around the same time that Lelouch takes on his "Zero" identity and starts to build his “Black Knights” rebellion army. This OVA focuses on the invasion of the Euro Universe (E.U.) by the Holy Britannian Empire and special division “Wyvern” Knightmare corps. These corps are comprised entirely of Japanese teenagers and commanded by Layla Malkal (Miyu Irino) as he and the rest of the Wyvern corps are plunged into the battlefield with a 5% chance of survival.

This OVA has been released in Japan and consists of four episodes that run for 51 minutes each. Ichirō Ōkouchi are credited with the original story.

UPDATE: Man Entertainment have confirmed that there will be four planned releases following the Japanese releases. Episode 1 has already been released in Japan, Episode 2 will be in Japanese cinemas in August and a home video release expected around January in Japan. Episode 1 will be released in Australia on the 10th of July 2013.
