Takashi Miike's Wara no Tate Film to Screen at Cannes

The Cannes Film Festival in announced its screenings for this year's May 15-26 event, including TATE (Shield of Straw) film. The film will screen in competition for the festival's top honor, the Palme d'Or.

Miike has previously had two Ai to Makoto (Ai and Makoto) romance manga in 2012. Ichimei competed for the Palme d'Or award, and Ai to Makoto (For Love's Sake) screened as part of the "Midnight Screenings" section of the festival.
Kore-eda Hirokazu's Soshite Chichi ni Naru (Like Father, Like Son) film about babies switched at birth will also screen in competition.
