Guinness Certifies Sazae-san as Longest Running Animated Show

2,250-episode anime of Machiko Hasegawa's strip manga marks 45th anniversary this year
The Guinness World Records committee recognized the anime adaptation of Midori Katō (voice of the title heroine Sazae) accepting the award.
Katou commented on the event, saying, “This is such a famous award throughout the world, so I'm excited. I've been doing this for 45 years, so when I see this award knowing that people all over Japan have been watching and that Fuji TV has watched over this work, my heart is full of emotions.”
The anime adaptation of Machiko Hasegawa's ranks high on the Japanese TV rankings.
In addition, a live-action drama special Arisa Mizuki as Sazae.
