L.A. EigaFest to Show Miyazaki's Wind Rises, Live-Action Library Wars

The Japan Film Society announced on Wednesday that it will screen remake of Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven film.
The film lineup includes The Apology King, The Devil's Path, The Story of Yonosuke, Samurai Pirates, Leaving on the 15th of Spring, Nobody's Perfect, Japan in a Day by executive producer Ridley Scott, the North American premiere of the "unique filmed" stage action film Seven Souls in Scull Castle, and Death And Tanya (the feature film by 2012 LA EigaFest's competition shorts winner). The festival will also show two episodes each of Tiger & Bunny with English subtitles. Six winning films from the short film competition will compete for the Golden Zipangu Award.
Five filmmaker will receive the U.S. Japan Content Merit Award by the Japanese government "for bringing Japanese content and talent to a mainstream American audience" in a ceremony at at the Consulate General of Japan's residence: director John Lasseter (Toy Story) of Pixar "who created the market for Ghibli films in the US."
The Wind Rises centers on Jirō Horikoshi (made the shortlist for the Best Foreign Language Film category of the 71st Golden Globe Awards.
