Free! Eternal Summer is the second Crunchyroll currently holds the home video rights for the first season, and Funimation stated last month that it has approached Crunchyroll about a collaboration to make an English dub of the anime's first season and distribute it on home video. At the time, Funimation said that Crunchyroll had yet to reply to their inquiry.
The second season premiered on July 2, and both Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
The season features the new character Sōsuke Yamazaki, one of Rin's best friends from elementary school who understands him well. plays Sōsuke.
The official website for the Free! Eternal Summer anime announced in August that an unaired, special episode will be included on the seventh Blu-ray Disc and DVD volumes of the series, which is slated to ship in Japan on March 18, 2015.
