Man Announces Sailor Moon DVD Release Plans

The release of the original Sailor Moon series will compromise of 200 episodes covering Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon Sailor Stars. Man will break the series into 10 parts starting with Sailor Moon Part 1 in December 2015 as the following releases;
- Sailor Moon Part 1 (Episodes 1-24) DVD
- Sailor Moon Part 1 (Episodes 1-24) DVD Limited Edition W/ Collector's Box
- Sailor Moon Volume 1 (Episodes 1-7) DVD (Mass Market Exclusive)
- Sailor Moon Volume 2 (Episodes 8-14) DVD (Mass Market Exclusive)
And then will follow with Sailor Moon Part 2 in early 2016 and Sailor Moon R Part 1 before mid 2016.
Man's release will use the video masters from the European release of Sailor Moon and include the new English dub alongside the Japanese audio track with English subtitles. The limited edition version of Sailor Moon Part 1 will include a hard collector box for parts 1 and 2 and a booklet with character designs, profiles and additional artwork from the previous series. Each series release will continue in this fashion until all the parts are released.
Pre-orders will open from October 1st 2015.

Naoko Takeuchi launched the original magical girl team Kodansha Comics imprint has been publishing the manga in North America.
franchise in May 2014 with plans to produce a completely uncut edition of the original anime adaptation. This included an entirely new English dub cast which was personally approved by original manga creator Naoko Takeuchi.

Man originally announced a delay of the original Sailor Moon series with the intention to ensure a quality release that avoids the problems with Viz' North American Blu-ray release.
