Haikyu!!'s 2nd Event Anime to Ship With Manga's Volume 21 in May

This year's ninth issue of Haikyu!! manga will be bundled with a limited edition of the manga's 21st volume, which Shueisha will publish on May 2.
The 22-minute event anime, titled "VS Akaten," has an original story not seen in either the manga or the anime, involving Hinata and Kageyama failing a test and finding that the make-up exam conflicts with their training camp. The story is connected to Haikyu!! Second Season's fourth episode. The deadline to pre-order the limited edition of the volume is February 29. The limited edition retails for 2,980 yen ($24).
The episode premiered at last year's Jump Special Anime Festa tour in November.
Haikyu!! also release with the 15th volume of the manga last March.

Furudate first published a one-shot version of the Haikyu!! manga in the Winter 2011 issue of Shueisha's Shonen Jump Next! magazine, and then ran another one-shot in the main Weekly Shonen Jump magazine later that year. In the following year, he launched the series version of the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump. Shueisha published the manga's 19th compiled book volume last December.
The first season of the anime streaming the second season as it airs in Japan.
The anime films last July and September.
