2nd Chihayafuru Film Opens at #5, Terraformars at #7

opening weekend on March 19. Both films are projected to earn a combined total of 3 billion yen ($28.3 million).
The live-action Terraformars opened last Friday on 327 screens. Despite the high screen count, it sold 128,730 tickets and earned 150,636,500 yen ($1.4 million) over Saturday and Sunday to rank #7 in the box office.
Detective Conan: Junkoku no Nightmare (film, topped the Japanese box office chart for the third straight weekend. The film sold 490,261 tickets over the weekend for 562,252,800 yen ($5.3 million), bringing the film's box office total to more than 3.6 billion yen ($33.9 million). Its third-weekend attendance only dropped only 6% compared to the second weekend.
The film Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno, eventually grossed a total of over 4.4 billion yen ($40.33 million), the highest so far in the franchise's history, but Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare is projected to eventually earn over 5 billion yen ($45.83 million).
Eiga Crayon Shin-chan the Movie Fast Asleep! The Large Attack on the Dreaming World), the 24th Crayon Shin-chan film, fell from #3 to #4 in its third weekend after Captain America: Civil War opened at #3.
The live-action I am a Hero dropped from #4 to #6 in its second weekend. The film sold 159,964 tickets over the weekend and earned 225,688,700 yen ($2 million).
Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, dropped from #6 to #9 in its second weekend.
Ansatsu Kyōshitsu: Sotsugyō-hen (Assassination Classroom manga, dropped from #7 to #10 in its sixth weekend.
Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the Birth of Japan 2016) also fell off the ranking.
