Raideen Composer Akihiro Komori es Away at 85

Composer also practiced brain surgery, composed children's songs for NHK programs

Composer Shinagawa, Tokyo. He is survived by his wife, Mimi.

Komori was born in Tokyo in 1931. He graduated from Keio University School of Medicine in 1957, and worked at first as a surgery assistant, and then as a brain surgeon. At the same time, he studied music composition under Japanese composer Tomojirō Ikenouchi. He was a member of the Japan Surgical Society, a board member of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, a managing director of the Japan Federation of Composers, a board member of the Association of Children's Song Writers, a board member of the Society for istration of Remuneration for Video Home Recording, and the representative coordinator of the Consultative Assembly on Reprographic Problems of Sheet Music.

He composed the music for the Yuusha Raideen and NHK programs Boo Foo Woo, Tondeke Bucchii, Rensō Game, and more.
