anime or the film.

Funimation describes the anime:

For thirty years, companion robot Hoshino Yumemi has patiently waited to show someone the stars. Left in an abandoned planetarium, she sits hoping for customers that will never show. That is, until a Junker– a plunderer of goods and artifacts from the ruins of civilization—stumbles upon the crumbling establishment. Will he help her repair the planetarium, or will she be alone once more?

The anime's official website previously streamed a trailer for both the net anime and film in April.

The five-episode anime is titled planetarian: Hoshi no Hito (planetarian: Star Person). The net anime will premiere on July 7, and the film will open on September 3. The video description of the trailer describes planetarian: Chiisana Hoshi no Yume as "This is a certain woman's story" and describes planetarian: Hoshi no Hito as "This is a certain man's story." The net anime will adapt the main game's story, and the film will be "another story" about what happens to Kuzuya afterward.

The main cast stars Tamio Ohki.

Lia is performing the film's theme song "Hoshi no Fune" (Starship).

The net anime will stream in Japan on GYAO!, among other services.
