Hayate the Combat Butler Manga Takes Break, Returns in November for Last Arc

Series returns in Weekly Shonen Sunday #51 on November 16

This year's 47th issue of Hayate the Combat Butler (Hayate no Gotoku!) manga will go on a break starting in the next issue. The series will return and launch its final arc in the 51st issue, which will ship in Japan on November 16.

The wraparound jacket band on the 48th compiled volume confirmed in May that the manga's story was approaching its climax. The 49th volume shipped in Japan on Tuesday.

Hardworking Hayate has a plan to pay back the yakuza--who are now the legal owners of his body parts: he'll kidnap someone and ransom them for a mountain of money! But things get tricky when his would-be kidnappee--who as luck would have it is the daughter of a mind-bogglingly wealthy family--mistakes Hayate's actions for a confession of love, and subsequently hires him to be her personal servant. At least his employment future is secure, or so he thinks...

Hata launched the manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2004. Viz Media Manglobe animated the third and fourth seasons, as well as the OVA and anime film.
