Neko Atsume Film Opens on April 8 in Japan

The official website for the Neko Atsume no Ie (Neko Atsume's Home) film based on Hit-Point's smartphone app Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector revealed on Thursday that the movie will open in Japan on April 8, 2017. It will screen in Shinjuku Musashinokan theater and other areas nationwide.
In addition, the staff revealed that actress Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV's Lunafreya) will play the film's heroine, Michiru Towada (pictured below), the protagonist's editor.

The film follows Sakumoto, a novelist who won a new writer award when he was younger and became a best-selling author. However, he has been dealing with writer's block lately. To turn over a new leaf, he moves to a tranquil new home, but he still remains downbeat. One day when he was at his wit's end, he looks out into the garden, where a cat shows up.

Although Sakumoto tries talking to the cat, it goes away, and Sakumoto is downbeat again. That evening, he places dry cat food in a corner of the garden. The following morning, the food is gone, and all of a sudden, Sakumoto is intrigued.

Yūji Nagamori planned and wrote the screenplay, and Mediand is producing.
The game has been ed over 19 million times worldwide since it debuted in October 2014.
