Yasushi Akimoto's 'Dimension-Crossing' Idol Group's Name, Visual Revealed

22/7 (Nanabun no Nijūni), which is a fraction approximating the number pi. Akimoto explained that the group's name is a symbol of imagination with a meaning that lies in the future.
The website also revealed a new key visual drawn by Yukiko Horiguchi, who handles the design for the project's character Miu Takigawa.
The group based on the concept of "idols that cross dimensions" has eight anime idol characters, with their respective voice actresses performing as idols in the real world. A different character designer is handling each member's anime design. The following announced for the project:
Reika Satō, 17 years old. She is the student council president and an honor student.

Sony Music Records and Aniplex received 10,325 applications for the group and held five rounds of auditions. The website announced 12 successful applicant ID numbers in December, but the names of the final have yet to be announced.
Akimoto founded the AKB48 idol group in 2005, with its sixth and latest domestic sister group, Nogizaka46.
