Toho Reports Increase in Profits in 1st Half of Fiscal Year

Film distributor TOHO published its earnings for its current fiscal year through its second quarter (from March 1 through August 31) on October 16. The company reported consolidated sales of 139.297 billion yen ($1.225 billion) a 21.1% increase from the same period last year. TOHO also reported an operating profit of 32.274 billion yen ($283 million, 32.3% increase), and an ordinary income of 33.288 billion yen ($292 million, 32.9% increase). The company's net income for the period was 22.875 billion yen ($201 million), a 37.9% increase.
TOHO reported that its DVD and Blu-ray Disc home video sales amounted to 11.211 billion yen ($98 million), a 188.3% increase from the same period last year. The company released your name. on home video on July 26.
