Legend of the Galactic Heroes' New Stage Play Reveals Cast, Visual for Alliance

Play adaptation of new anime runs in Tokyo in October

The official website for the new stage play series Legend of the Galactic Heroes revealed a new visual and six cast on Friday for the first play in the series.

The play stars:

Shunsuke Kobayakawa as Yang Wen-li


Kousuke Yonehara as Alex Caselnes


Daiki Ise as Dusty Attemborough


Seiya Konishi as Julian Mintz


Masato Saki as Jean Robert Lappe


Shū Shiotsuki as Jessica Edwards


Previously revealed cast include:

Seiichirō Nagata as Reinhard von Lohengramm (left) and Shō Katō as Sigfried Kircheis (right)


Ryō Hatakeyama as Oskar von Reuentahl


Miami Tsurimoto as Wolfgang Mittermeier


The play's official website also lists 13 other minor cast and ensemble .

The first play in the new series will run at Zepp Diver City Tokyo from October 25-28. Michiko Ōiwa is directing the play, Yōko Yonaiyama is writing the script, and screenwriter Noboru Takagi is credited with supervision and organization. The play's title is Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These.

The novels previously inspired 11 stage plays starring Tori Matsuzaka that ran between 2011-2015.

A new 12-episode television anime also titled dub.

The second season of the anime, The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Seiran (The New Thesis: Stellar War), will then play in theaters, as three films of four episodes each, in 2019.

Tanaka's space opera novel series follows the epic conflict between the Galactic Empire and Free Planets Alliance, as well as the personal stories of Imperial iral Reinhard von Lohengramm and the Alliance's Yang Wen-Li. The 10 main novel volumes and four side-story volumes in The Legend of the Galactic Heroes saga have sold 15 million copies and earned Tanaka a Seiun Award.
