Shenmue I & II Game Collection's Story Trailer Streamed

posted on by Alex Mateo
Game collection launches for PS4, Xbox One, PC on August 21

Corey Marshall, voice of the series' protagonist Ryo Hazuki, narrates this first episode of a Shenmue introductory series titled "What is Shenmue?"

Sega will release the game collection in North America and Europe on August 21.

The games will feature both Japanese and English audio, the choice of classic or modern controls, HD resolution, updated interface, controller and mouse/keyboard , and new post processing effects. For Shenmue II, Sega is porting the Xbox version instead of the Dreamcast version.

In Japan, the combo pack is slated for release on PlayStation 4 only this year.

SEGA released the first Shenmue on its Dreamcast console in Japan in 1999, and in North America in 2000. The company released Shenmue II on the Dreamcast in Japan in 2000, and in North America in 2001. Shenmue II also received an Xbox version in 2002. The series was originally planned as a trilogy.

Series director met that goal within nine hours of launching, before adding additional stretch goals.

Shenmue III was originally slated for release in December 2017, but was pushed back to the second half of 2018 and then to 2019. The game is slated for release on PlayStation 4 and PC.
