Viz's Shonen Jump Adds Haikyu!!, Demon Slayer, More to Simulpublishing Lineup

In addition, Nakatani confirmed that it will continue to simultaneously publish all of the series that it is currently serializing from V Jump, bringing its total number of simultaneously published series to 25.

Nakatani also announced that new chapters of Weekly Shonen Jump manga will debut at 3:00 p.m. EST on Sundays, 22 hours earlier than the digital English edition of the magazine's current release time on Mondays. Issues normally debut on Mondays Japan time, which is still Sunday on North American time. (The combined fourth and fifth issue will debut on a Saturday in Japan, so Viz will release the chapters on Friday, December 21.)

Viz announced on Friday that, on December 17, it is replacing its subscription-based English digital edition of Weekly Shonen Jump with a free service where the latest three chapters of all of its series will be available for free. Viz already publishes several manga, such as Boys Over Flowers Season 2, for free as simultaneous publications. The final issue of the digital magazine debuted on Monday.

In addition to the free manga available to all s on the website, a new hip plan will offer more than 10,000 manga chapters that Viz Media previously released in English. The hip will cost US$1.99 per month and will also launch on December 17. A seven-day free trial will also be available. There will be no annual subscription rate. Subscribers will currently be limited to reading 100 chapters per day.

Those who are already subscribing to the digital Shonen Jump magazine will have their hips transferred to the new plan, and annual subscribers will receive three months for free at the end of their current paid subscription period.

Viz Media has not yet confirmed if it will continue its "Jump Start" initiative, in which it publishes the first three chapters of a new manga simultaneously with the Japanese release. However, the above-mentioned Chainsaw Man, ne0;lation, Gokutei Higuma are the previewed Chainsaw Man and ne0;lation on December 3 and December 10, respectively. Gokutei Higuma debuts on December 17.
