Weathering With You U.K. Release Will Expand To Over 250 Screens

According to a press release from Fetch Publicity, the U.K. and Ireland release of Weathering With You will expand from the current 40 screens to over 250 screens on January 30. Tickets and venue details for the screenings will be available on the http://weatheringwithyoufilm.co.uk/ site.

The Fetch Publicity press release also quotes this report from the Screen Daily website:

"Makoto Shinkai's Weathering With You started well, taking £152,140 from 57 locations for a £2,717 average. With previews, the film has £221,320 in total, almost 10 times that of your name.'s £22,274 opening."

The film has been GKIDS, which is distributing Weathering With You in America, describes the film:

The summer of his high school freshman year, Hodaka runs away from his remote island home to Tokyo, and quickly finds himself pushed to his financial and personal limits. Shinkai is credited with the original work, and also directed and wrote the film's scripts for Tōko Miura sang RADWIMPS' "Grand Escape (Movie edit) feat. Tōko Miura" and "Shukusai (Movie edit) feat. Tōko Miura" theme songs for the film.
